Title: What Your Worries Reveal About Your Heart

Focus Verse: "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?" (Matthew 6:25)

A financial advisor once shared that you can tell what people truly value by looking at their bank statements and calendars. Where we spend our money and time reveals our real priorities, regardless of what we say matters most to us.

Jesus makes a similar observation about our worries. What keeps us awake at night? What dominates our prayers? What fills our conversations? Often it's concerns about our job security, our health, our appearance, or our financial situation. While these aren't inherently wrong concerns, Jesus suggests they reveal something deeper about where we've placed our trust and what we believe will truly satisfy us.

Consider how much mental energy you've spent this past week worrying about physical needs versus how much time you've invested in examining your spiritual condition. When did you last lose sleep over the state of your relationship with God? When did concern for someone's salvation interrupt your daily routine the way a work deadline might?

Jesus isn't calling us to be irresponsible about practical matters, but He's exposing how our anxiety patterns reveal our heart's true allegiance. The person who worries constantly about money but rarely about their spiritual growth has shown where their treasure really lies.

This Monday, let your worries become a spiritual diagnostic tool. What are they telling you about what you've made ultimate in your life?
